Carried from Peer Goath in Sindh by our ancestors, the Akhand Jyot has burned without interruption ever since — and burns today in Ulhasnagar.

A lamp lit in Sindh, and never allowed to go out
In Peer Goath, in Sindh, a lamp was lit. It was tended day and night, through ordinary years and hard ones, and it was never permitted to go dark.
When our families left Sindh, they carried the flame with them. It crossed a border, and it came to rest in a city that had been built out of nothing for people who had lost everything.
It burns today at Puj Chaliha Sahib Jhulelal Mandir in Ulhasnagar — the same flame, unbroken, tended by the same community that carried it here.
It has not been allowed to go out.
